Book Editor Seeks True Stories About Living With Multiple Sclerosis

Toronto-based therapist and editor Liz Pearl, M.Ed., is seeking personal stories from people who are living with Multiple Sclerosis for an upcoming book entitled, MS—My Story, published by PK Press.

The deadline for a one-paragraph synopsis is January 9, 2012, and, upon acceptance, the final draft will be due April 2. There is no remuneration. Contributors will receive one free copy of the book, which will be on sale to the public for $20.

Submissions must be about 1000-words and previously unpublished in print and online.  The non-fiction piece can be written as a memoir, narrative, letter, interview, poetry or journal entry. Individuals who are not able to submit electronic documents may be eligible for inclusion by interview (Toronto area only).

“Participating as a contributing author is as an opportunity to share a glimpse of yourself and your experience of living with MS,” said Pearl in her solicitation letter to potential writers. “Expressing your words of wisdom will create a powerful legacy and an enduring resource to be treasured.

“In addition to your family and friends, many readers will benefit tremendously from your personal insights and from a range of positive perspectives. I firmly believe that participating in this unique therapeutic project will be a meaningful endeavour for all participants and I look forward to the collaborative process.”
