A screening of the film The Adventure Club is going to help young people across Canada on their own future adventures. On Saturday, Oct. 8 a special Cineplex theatres across Canada will be hosting a special screening of the family-friendly film The Adventure Club with all proceeds going towards the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada.

The film's Canadian distributor Indiecan Entertainment and production company Trilight Entertainment are donating all profits from these special "Family Favourites" screenings.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada's goal is to provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. The organization estimates it assists 200,000 and their families across Canada each year with its various after- and out-of-school programs. Other areas where the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada help out young people include "life change" programs like physical recreation, nutrition, technology, the arts, personal and life skills development. Additionally, many clubs provide meals, family support programs, emergency shelter and other supports to children, youth and families in need.

"We are thrilled that Indiecan Entertainment and Trilight Entertainment are supporting Boys and Girls Clubs," said Owen Charters, president and CEO, Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, in a press statement. "The money raised will help fund the critical programs and services our Clubs provide to children and youth across the country."

The Adventure Club follows three friends as they discover an ancient puzzle box which sends them on a wild escapade. Along the way the friends vow to use treasures they find to save their local science museum that's teetering on the verge of bankruptcy.
