Corey Hart, Fred Penner, The Tenors, Marianas Trench’s Matt Webb, and Tyler Shaw are among the artists set to perform for a virtual charity concert to support MusiCounts.  The 90-minute online show, titled UnSilent Night, is set for Dec. 10 on Facebook Live, starting at 8 p.m. EST.

Tickets are $10, available here.

Also performing are Sacha and Splash'N Boots.

"The proceeds from each ticket to MusiCounts UnSilent Night will help sustain music education in these enormously challenging times. Help keep music alive in our schools, and register for your spot today," reads statement on the ticket purchase site.

MusiCounts is the charity arm of the Canadian Academy of Recording Sciences (CARAS), which puts on the annual Juno Awards, celebrating the best in Canadian music.

The concert will also highlight the achievements of schools and community programs across the country who have received MusiCounts support.

Elementary schools, junior high schools, high schools, secondary schools and separate schools are eligible to apply for support from MusiCounts, whose mission is to ensure that children in Canada, regardless of socio-economic circumstances or cultural background, have access to music programs through their schools.

"Access to music education continues to decline across Canada because fewer schools and communities have the necessary resources. In 2019, MusiCounts received over $6 million in school instrument requests, but could only support 1 in 5 schools, so there remains a significant gap," MusiCounts says on its website.

The MusiCounts Band Aid program has to date handed out $9.7 million worth of instruments and gear to 1029 schools.

Other MusiCounts programs include naming an exceptional teacher for the MusiCounts Teacher of the Year Award, the MusiCounts Scholarship for post-secondary students, or distance learning resources available via the MusiCounts Learn program.
