Malone, drummer Travis Barker of Blink 182, bassist Brian Lee and guitarist Nick Mack performed from different rooms in Malone’s Salt Lake City, Utah home and covered 15 Nirvana numbers during an 80-minute set that included "Francis Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle,” "Come As You Are," "About a Girl" and "Heart-Shaped Box."
Fans were invited to donate to the United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for The World Health Organization during the live stream, and Google contributed $2 for every $1 donated.
The event raised $500,000, including Google's match, YouTube Music spokesperson Lauren Resnick told CNN.
The money will help "ensure patients get the care they need, frontline workers get essential supplies, and accelerate efforts to develop vaccines, tests and treatments," Malone said during the live stream.

Google is continuing to contribute two dollars for every dollar donated to the United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for The World Health Organization, up to $5 million, until June 30. Donations can be made here. A report in late April said the effort had raised more than $4.3 million.
Donations to the United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for The World Health Organization support WHO’s work, including with partners, to: track and understand the spread of COVID-19; ensure patients receive the care they need and frontline workers get essential supplies and information; and accelerate research and development of a vaccine and treatments for all who need them.
The United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for The World Health Organization had raised $211.33 million from 371,000 donors as of the morning of May 8.
WHO works worldwide to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable. Its stated goal is “to ensure that a billion more people have universal health coverage, to protect a billion more people from health emergencies, and provide a further billion people with better health and well-being.
KBF Canada has partnered with the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation to collect donations in Canada for WHO. All donations are eligible for a tax receipt in Canada, and 97 per cent of each donation will be donated to the organization.
