Anyone looking to surf into the holiday season, and help some cats in the Bahamas along the way, should consider buying Mark Malibu presents: Surfin’ Kitty X-mas from Bandcamp to benefit Pinetree Stables cat sanctuary in Grand Bahama.

The album was compiled and produced by Canadian Mark Sanders and features 18 new and traditional Christmas songs performed in a surf rock style by acts including Mark Malibu & The Wasagas, Hang-Ten Hangmen, Surf Aliens, The Breakers, Huevos Rancheros and Mariachi Death Squad.

Mark Malibu presents: Surfin’ Kitty X-mas sells for $10 USD or more. As the project is a fundraiser, any purchase for more than $20 will also receive a download card for Mark Malibu & The Wasagas’ Return of the Wasagas album.

All of the money raised from the sale of Mark Malibu presents: Surfin’ Kitty X-mas compact discs and downloads will be donated to Pinetree Stables, which spays, neuters, vets and feeds abandoned cats on the island.

Pinetree Stables supports the Humane Society of Grand Bahama, which was founded in 1968 to provide safe harbour for the island’s homeless and abused animals.

“Usually the Wasagas would play a live show,... but 2020 year got wiped out due to COVID 19 so... a compilation CD it is,” says Malibu on the album’s Bandcamp page. “Every artist on this project donated their time and music. Their generosity should be commended. I am proud to call them all my friends.”
