By purchasing (PENGUIN CLASSICS)RED versions of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Joseph Conrad’s The Secret Agent, Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw, Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina, Louise May Alcott’s Little Women and 11 other titles, buyers will be directing 50 percent of the profits to the Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.
Indigo is the latest in a long list of recognized brands around the world that have created (PRODUCT) RED items. Other companies, including Apple, Gap, Converse and Starbucks, have partnered and contributed more than $140 million to the Global Fund, which invests 100 percent of the (RED) money it receives to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.
According to a press release issued jointly by Indigo and Penguin, the Global Fund has approved funding of US$19.3 billion in 144 countries to fight AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. AIDS treatment has been provided to 2.5 million people.
